Mindfulness with Amma Thanasanti
Three sessions via Zoom
(Zoom link will be sent to registered participants)
About This Series
This class uses the Satipatthāna Sutta as a guide — the discourse where the Buddha first taught
the Four Foundations of Mindfulness: awareness of the body, feeling tones (how experience feels
as pleasant, unpleasant, or neutral), mind states, and perspectives that bring insight. This teaching
is regarded as one of the Buddha’s most complete and practical paths to freedom — from the
habits that keep us cycling through stress, and freedom to live with steadiness, clarity, and care in
a fast-changing world.
We’re also living through collectively stressful and traumatic times. Many of us — and those we
support — experience nervous system overwhelm. Sometimes, traditional meditation
instructions can feel activating instead of calming.
This series brings a trauma-informed approach to these classical teachings, helping them
become accessible, safe, and healing for contemporary practitioners. Whether you’re working
with your own stress or supporting others, you’ll learn tools that bridge ancient wisdom with
modern understanding of the nervous system.
Each class includes guided meditation, a teaching (dharma) talk, and group discussion.
